Just like a number of our new models, we've worked on developing this model in-house, drawing on our years of unique experience both with high performance, and road legal e-bike designs. Our unique style of offering both of these kinds of e-bikes gives us an unfair advantage when it comes to the formulation of a 'dual use' option. A lot of our customers like the idea of using their e-bike on the road but when it comes to serious off-road use, 25km/h and low power just doesn't cut it.
Dual Use
Together with the use of the USB reprogramming cable (available separately) the Vermillion is a truly versatile machine. This is the only electric bike on the market which boasts full dual capability.
Built for bush bashing
Whether you plan to use the Vermillion for commuting or for off-road activities, you will be riding an e-bike with a tremendous capability. The design of high-powered electric bikes is completely different from the regular road going, street legal types. The requirements from an electronic point of view are incredibly rigorous so the system is designed from the ground up to bear these requirements. Using a heavily detuned off road electric bike as your everyday ride will ensure a very, very long trouble-free commuting.
Unleash the beast
Out of the box the Vermillion is capable of 32km/h (before being detuned with the Switcheroonie). We don't use a throttle on the Vermillion because the pedal assist is so smoother but you can plug a throttle in if needed (we don't like the handlebar arrangement with the throttle, but it's up to you!) If you disable the speed limit (not recommended, but possible) you will get an easy 50km/h out of this weapon of an e-bike. This can be done using the LCD settings on the C965 display. Thanks to the sine wave controller, you cannot hear the motor at all. It's not just low noise, the motor is actually completely silent so when you power past the lycra clad seasoned athletes they won't have a clue!
