The Puma is Dillenger's entry level electric mountain bike with SLA battery and basic pedal assist. It's undeniably great value and is the perfect entry into the electric bike world. Legally Awesome

The Puma electric mountain bike is part of a new range designed and built by Dillenger to fulfill a gap in our range since we phased out our last street legal electric mountain bike. The Puma is a pleasant looking, easy to ride model that ticks all the boxes for an every-day use electric bike. 26″ Wheels make it a super smooth ride compared to smaller folding bikes. Although we call this bike a ‘mountain bike’ most commonly this will be used by customers for simply getting from point A to point B.

Style, Style, Style

We’ve designed the Puma to not only look great, but also to meet all the up to date requirements for a European-spec electric bike (where this bike is also sold). EN15194 certification comes standard with this model. The wiring harness is hidden inside the frame which not only looks clean, but also improves the water resistant properties, so that this electric bike can be safely used in the rain, should you get ambushed by a shower on your way home from work! Metallic front and rear mudguards designed specifically for this bike give the bike a vintage ‘retro’ look.

Performance, Comfort

The rear internally geared hub motor is the perfect drive system for the Puma as it provides efficient torque at any RPM and being a fully enclosed hub motor means that it is also zero maintenance. Even your antique 100 year old bike mechanic could manage to service this one! The power from the rear hub motor works smoothly in conjunction with the Shimano 6 speed gear set at any speed, even on the steepest of hills. The front chain ring is sized perfectly to match the RPM of the motor to the cadence of the rider for comfortable pedaling.

Puma Upgrade Available

If you quite like the look of the Puma but you would prefer to pay a little extra for a lithium ion battery, LCD display and front disk brakes, we have another model based on the entry level Puma. The upgraded version is suitable for potential customers who would prefer a lighter electric bike, with variable pedal assist, LCD readout and front disk brakes.

My Puma takes me half the time to get to University and back, and because of my bike, I could accept a part time job that is just a 15 min "e-cycle" away! A regular bike would have taken me at least an hour, and a lot of sweat! I have also taken my Puma on the train for longer tips to town. Assuredly, the Puma is by far more economical for daily use than the diesel guzzler I have to use.
Now I can bike to and from the local supermarket, up hill and down, with relative ease. And not feel so guilty about
wasting our precious fossil fuels.
